Fox Hunt - Malacca |
|
|||
![]() |
In conjunction with the 51st Merdeka Day celebration, the Malacca Amateur Radio Community has organized a Field Day cum Fox- Hunt led by 9M2WT (Bill) with the help of fellow ham and SWLs in Malacca. The main idea for this event was to bring together ham operators SWLs and also all those from all walks of life who are interested in this fraternity. This will also enable us to spread the knowledge and sprit of ham radio; such as radio technology, wireless communication, and also to put these knowledge to good use like RESCUE.
The event would not have been successful
without the team effort from 9W2HHL, 9W2CWL, 9W2FCW, 9W2JRT, 9W2TRJ,
9W2DOV, 9W2NCL, and last but not least the 2 swls of Koh & Queek; and also
harmonics of 9M2WT and their friends |

Prior to the date of the Hunt, there was a workshop on what fox-hunting is and antenna construction at the MMU students lecture hall, where eventually 6 teams participated in the hunt. During the workshop 9M2AU (Aziz) came all the way down from Kuala Lumpur to give the students a fare good idea of our fraternity. Thank you Aziz. |

In all we have about
150 to 200 participants. We have participants from Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur,
Pahang, Johor and of course Malacca. Some even brought their families.
T-shirts and pen were given away as Souvenirs. Since there was a camp site,
a lot of them pitched up their tents and camped for the night before the
hunt, while others booked into nearby hotels. |

The day’s hunt went on beautifully, with
participants looking into the ground and up in the sky for the foxes. As I
say earlier that all well ends well, with delighted winners and happy loser.
It was all fun. |

Congratulations to the winners and better luck to the disappointed losers. As the saying goes all good things has to come to an end, the event broke off at 3.00 p.m. as the start of Ramadan for Hari Raya Puasa was the next day. |
